Why doesn't the ship spawn on the landing pad when I teleport to my base? Also, if I fly my ship to my base, most of the time there's a random ship already on the landing pad. When the base building update first came out, the ship would be on the pad when you teleported to your base. So, are landing pads useless now?
The total number of ships allowed is 7. Six npc ships and yours or your six ships and a visitor. However, if you have six ships you need to leave before one will land and you can follow it in and land with it. The two extra are probably so they can use the same assets as the other two rows.

Strangely, you can place a landing pad and then snap a building to it, but not the other way around. I have trouble getting the simple walls/etc to go the way i want but it's not a new issue for me. HG "fixed" this by assigning a safety margin of landing pads. This means that no matter how many pads there are, NPC's will always leave some free. In the case of trading posts, that number is 2 free at all times. At trading posts now, if a player ship is there, only 4 npc's will land at any one time, leaving 2 pads free.
